
With the uncertainty of tomorrow morning's weather, logistical challenges, and out of an abundance of caution, Falls Church City Public Schools, Administrative Offices, and Extended Day Care Program will be closed on Friday, January 19th.

The Falls Church City Public Schools, Administrative Offices, and Extended Day Care Program will operate on a (two) 2-hour delay on Wednesday, January 17th.
Day Care will not accept Drop-Ins.
There will be NO Early Release Wednesday at any school.

Bus E to the Secondary Campus is running 10-15 minutes late this morning.

Due to the expected arrival of potential Tropical Storm Ophelia, The Falls Church Festival has been moved to Sunday from 10.- 4. To accommodate the move, the Run for the Schools will start at 9 a.m. Sunday - one hour later than scheduled!

A power outage in the central Falls Church area is impacting Mount Daniel and Jessie Thackrey Preschool. Oak Street Elementary, the Secondary Campus, and the Central Office currently are unaffected. Stand by for more info as we get it.

Due to construction hazards, the bus stop located at Ellison St @ Kent St will temporarily be relocated to Parker Ave @ Kent St (estimated bus stop arrival time 7:47 am) until further notice.

Cancelation Alert: Fall Sports Parent Meeting. With tonight’s pending inclement weather, we will cancel the Fall Sports Parent meeting. It was initially scheduled for 7 pm in the Learning Stairs at Meridian HS.

Expect heavy traffic around the secondary campus this morning as fire engines have shut down Mustang Alley due to an emergency at the construction site. Expect delays.

GAS LEAK UPDATE:
The gas leak was repaired at the bridge construction work on South Oak Street near Oak Street Elementary. Bridge construction continues on S. Oak Street. Tomorrow, bus stops and walking routes will return to what they were before today's gas leak closures..
